Out of touch with the world.

We don't have cable, I haven't followed the news in ages, and I've even stopped getting on Facebook daily. I might be on there once or twice a week now. I decided to see what the hell is going on today.

This made me cry.

STFU, twat.

I really wish it wasn't about politics; I wish it was about doing the right thing.

An interesting piece on race.

Draw your own conclusions.

A couple of things I wanna throw out there. I absolutely will vote for Obama in 2012 if the Republican convention winner is someone like Rick Perry, who believes evolution to be false and believes the world is 6,000 years old. That scares the piss out of me and Fiance, a passionate atheist.

Someone please tell me how many jobs corporations have created as a result of their lovely tax breaks? I'm no economist, and prefer not to express an opinion on something I know next to nothing about. BUT...I'm constantly hearing about how these tax breaks for the wealthy and for mega corporations will help create jobs, and as far as I can see, unemployment remains high even as Obama caves and renews the Bush-era tax cuts. Hmmm!

And with an election year coming up, I urge you to never take at face value anything you hear from the mouth of politicians. Verify everything you hear (death panels, anyone?), and broaden your news sources. On my phone I have apps for CNN, The New York Times, CBS News, ABC News, BBC, and Al Jazeera. But don't stop there. Factcheck.org and Politico.org are only two of the many sites out there that can help you to understand where politicians stands and translate all the political jargon for you. Don't allow yourself to be camouflaged among the ignorant masses. Use all the information sources at hand (books, television, internet) to keep yourself informed and to help you stand up for yourself and form your own opinion, rather than be another mouthpiece for the ventriloquist.

Have a good one, and blessed be.
